Winter Quarter – Week 9

March 15, 2012 § Leave a comment

Over the past couple of weeks Allison and I were working on a poster proposal for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference.  We got that finished and submitted just in time for finals week here at DePaul, thus we have been unable to work on rigging or animation over the past few weeks.  Next week is spring break and after that we will be ready to resume work on the project.

In other news, at our last large group meeting for the quarter we had a guest, Maxime Delorme from l’Universite Paris-Sud, LIMSI/CNRS, who gave us a brief presentation on his research into using information of the comfort of postures to help automatically generate realistic signs.

I still need to do some playing with the waist/ hips area to figure out how to prevent gaps from appearing between the pants and sweater when Paula is twisting side to side or leaning forward, as well as establishing the proper hierarchy for the bones.

Where Am I?
